What is CUSP?

CUSP stands for Curriculum with Unity Schools Partnership. CUSP is an unapologetically ambitious teacher facing curriculum that not only improves outcomes for pupils, but also teacher subject knowledge.

The CUSP partnership serves pupils across over 700 schools in the UK, as well as a growing number of international schools. Becoming a CUSP partner gives you access to their online resources and training, Ofsted support and guidance, EYFS, SEND and so much more.

What are CUSP book inserts?

In addition to online resources and training, in partnership with Red Side Up Ltd, schools can order pre-printed resources and worksheets to improve outcomes for pupils and increase teacher subject knowledge.

CUSP is guided by evidence-led curriculum structures, such as retrieval, spaced retrieval practice and interleaving. It is underpinned by explicit vocabulary instruction and research-focused pedagogy.

Types of resources include knowledge organisers, knowledge notes, oracy tasks, supporting texts, vocabulary quizzes, word connections and other resources that can be used effectively in the classroom. More Information | CUSP

How can I use CUSP book inserts?

Designed to fit pupil books, the resources are smaller than an A4 page and can be stuck into student books or used as worksheets. This dramatically reduces teacher workload, saves paper through less waste and costs are lower than printing out resources in school. The print quality is guaranteed to be sharp as well.

Schools can only purchase resources within their CUSP subscription. For example, you can’t order Art and Design resources if you don’t subscribe to the CUSP Art and Design curriculum.

All orders will be cross-referenced against the school’s CUSP subscription. All orders placed by schools are also sent to the CUSP Operations Team who will check and authorise it.

When should I place my order for the next term?

We would recommend placing your order at the earliest opportunity to ensure a timely delivery, so you have resources in hand at the start of the next term. Red Side Up will be working hard to print, sort, pack and ship the inserts to you.

Every term has a deadline by which orders have guaranteed delivery before the end of term. Orders after this date will still be accepted and every effort will be made to deliver before the school holidays.

Early ordering often attracts incentives such as free glue sticks. This further reduces costs for your school. See our homepage for the current offer.

Customer Accounts

How do I set up a new account?

Please click on Log In/Sign Up and complete the form with your school details. Be sure to complete the School Type, Curriculum Model and subscription details at the bottom of the form. The subscription details will be cross-referenced against your CUSP subscription.

Your CUSP subscription will determine what is available for you to order. If you believe this is incorrect when you log in, please contact us cusp@redsideup.co.uk.

Someone else ordered for my school before. How do I recover our account?

Please feel free to set up a new account. We will link your new log in to your school account before sending you an order confirmation.

Some schools have multiple logins as different staff order resources. We work hard to link everything together into a single school account on our systems.

Orders and payments

How much do resources cost?

Different resources are provided in different formats and therefore prices vary. When you add a resource to the basket, you will see its basic cost.

Your basket is saved between sessions, so if you need to advise your finance department of upcoming costs this is easy to do before placing the order.

Note that all prices exclude VAT and shipping. VAT and shipping will be confirmed only at the point of invoice.

I’ve placed an order, but haven’t received an order confirmation.

All orders are checked by knowledgeable Red Side Up staff before an order confirmation is emailed to you. This may mean a short delay as our staff work standard office hours. Please bear with us at busy times and be assured that this manual processing works to protect your school against unnecessary expenditure. If we spot a potential error or have a query, we will email the address used to place the order on this website.

What are ‘RunOvers?

Modules that roll across two terms are identified as **RUN OVER** in the second term in which they appear. Please check whether you have these from the previous term before ordering as you will not need to re-order.

What are Schools Choice modules?

Schools Choice modules are available for Primary Reading and Writing. They allow teachers to replace a text from the core Reading or Writing spine that they feel is not appropriate to teach in their specific context / to their particular cohort or simply as a choice, without compromising the structure or quality of the Reading and Writing blocks.

Only order Schools Choice resources if you have strategically sequenced them into your long-term plan.

How do I supply a purchase order (PO)?

If your school or trust uses a Purchase Order system, please be sure to email the PO to us after placing your order. Email the PO to cusp@redsideup.co.uk.

Note for Unity School Partnership schools: Orders cannot be accepted unless they are accompanied by a PO Number – please send PORD to cusp@unitysp.co.uk.

Note that it is your responsibility to email a PO to us if your school or trust requires us to use one for invoicing. Once goods have been despatched, we will not hold invoices while a PO is arranged.

How do I pay?

All orders are invoiced once goods have been despatched. Payment can be made by bank transfer.

Delivery

We produce inserts to order and despatch orders Monday through to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Once your order is ready for despatch, we will notify you by email. Delivery should be the next day via courier to UK mainland addresses.

For further details and estimates on shipping costs, see Shipping page.

Stock levels

How do I know if something is in stock?

We produce inserts to order, so we can always provide the resources your school needs.

Class sizes

How many students do resources cater for?

By default, inserts are provided for a standard 32 student class, except for Supporting Texts (STs) in Reading.

For primary schools, we can also supply inserts for larger or smaller classes if required. Please use the filters on the left to select inserts for 16 students (small) or 36 students (large).

Reading Supporting Texts (STs)

Supporting Texts (STs) for Reading modules for primary schools assume that students will share one between two. This keeps costs to a minimum. If you’d prefer students not to share, please order double the quantity.
